Internship Program

The White House Office of Management and Budget is seeking an intern for its Communications division. This internship is open to high-caliber undergraduate students entering their junior or senior year of college interested in media, speechwriting and researching, or communications.

OMB Communications: OMB’s Office of Communications and Strategic Planning is the principal resource of national, regional, and local media organizations for information about the Federal Budget and other areas of OMB responsibility. The office handles all the incoming media inquiries for OMB, crafts messages around Administration policies, and conveys those messages to the media and general public. The Strategic Planning and Communications Office also advises the OMB Director and the organization on the current media landscape and manages the dissemination of press materials.

All candidates should be adept in handling a variety of tasks simultaneously, and should feel comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Interns will be expected to work about 40 hours per week. Although these are unpaid internships, students will be eligible for a full public transportation subsidy.

U.S. Citizenship and successful completion of a background check is required.

APPLICATION PROCESS: To become a student volunteer, you must be enrolled, no less than half-time, in a recognized educational institution. Half- and full-time status is determined by the recognized educational institution. Interested applicants should submit a resume and cover letter to Daniel_C_Roberts@omb.eop.gov.
