William Beard is the retired cofounder of Beard Industries, a global distributor of grain dryers, but his service to others hasn’t slowed down since his retirement in 2002. He has continued to make big things happen in his hometown of Frankfort, Indiana, including his leadership in raising money to bring the first YMCA to his home county. He also thinks big beyond Frankfort. As a member of his local Kiwanis club, he has inspired his fellow members to raise money for The Eliminate Project, which is Kiwanis International’s partnership with UNICEF to fight maternal and neonatal tetanus in more than 30 nations.
