Dr. Rory Brown Sipp, Ed.D, has been involved with Early Childhood Education since he was a child, where he attended and graduated at 4 years-old from the Head Start program in Birmingham, Alabama (JCCEO). Later, he found himself in a mentoring role as a parent of his own son who also attended the Head Start Program in Birmingham. He has served in many professional roles in Head Start, starting as a teacher assistant and later as a trainer, administrator and Content Area Expert for Disabilities and Mental Health. He has devoted his efforts and his dedication to children and families and he works side by side with parents in their work to close the achievement gap. Rory is currently an active member of the National Head Start Association and a board member for both the Nevada Head Start Association and Region 9 Head Start Association. While working in Head Start programs, Rory has earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, as well as a Doctorate degree in Special Education from the University of Nevada-Las Vegas. He continues to devote his time to ministry, to his family, to writing children’s books, teaching at the University of Nevada Las Vegas, and supporting children and families in improving their quality of life by increasing child and family outcomes. Dr. Sipp currently serves as the new Executive Director of Nevada’s largest provider of Head Start services.
