Robin received her BS in Nursing from the University of Maryland where she remained after graduation to become a nurse manager in Shock Trauma. She pursued a Masters in Public Health from Johns Hopkins University becoming a division manager in the School of Medicine working with physician scientists and clinicians. Moving to GBMC she developed and directed an array of women’s service programs including developing the concept for the first Comprehensive Breast Care Center in Maryland and expanding the Women’s Resource Center into the highest ranked community health program in the state.
The Maryland Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure promises to save lives and end breast cancer forever. Robin’s vision is to grow the affiliate and develop more partnerships and collaborations in Maryland to continue to make a difference in the lives of those currently diagnosed with breast cancer and to positively impact the morbidity and mortality of women who will be diagnosed in the future. Since 2000 Komen Maryland has ranked in the top ten affiliates out of 125 nationwide receiving the prestigious Affiliate of the Year award in 2007. This year Robin received the inaugural Excellence in Leadership Award at Komen Headquarters and will celebrate her 11th year as executive director and her 19th year of running in the Komen Maryland Race for the Cure.
