Peggy is a breast health nurse and the Cancer Care Coordinator at Southern Maine Medical Center, a 150-bed community hospital in Southern Maine. Her role includes coordination of services and advocacy for patients and their families from time of diagnosis to end-of-life care. She has worked in Maine for her entire career. For 10 years she was the Coordinator of the York County Maine Breast and Cervical Health Program screening women for breast cancer, including underserved populations. She educated these women on the prevention, detection and treatment of breast cancer. Peggy is also an active volunteer with the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network and actively engages with her elected officials on issues important to cancer patients and their families.
Her other community involvement includes being on the Board of Directors and a clinic nurse for the Biddeford Free Clinic. She is Past-President of the Kennebunk Portside Rotary Club and currently is Assistant Governor for Rotary District 7780, Area 3. Three years ago Peggy and a small group of like - minded individuals established the Harbour Singers, a committed group of volunteers who offer peace and the gift of music for people in their end of life journey.
