Scott Ellis is the Emergency Preparedness Coordinator of the Progressive Center for Independent Living. He has trained hundreds of people with disabilities in New Jersey to be prepared for emergencies and disasters. He is currently the Access and Functional Needs Coordinator for Mercer County, a volunteer position Ellis took on a month before Hurricane Sandy hit. Ellis is the chair of the Mercer Community Organizations Active in Disasters (COAD) group, a member of Mercer County Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), and vice chair of NJ Group for Access and Integration Needs in Emergencies and Disasters, which advises both the NJ Office of Emergency Management and the Governor's Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness. Ellis is also a board member of Project Freedom Inc. and a member of the Mercer County Disabled Advisory Council.
