Consistent with the Presidential Policy Directive (PPD) on Global Development, the Global Development Council was created to inform and provide advice to the President and other senior U.S. officials on issues including: U.S. global development policies and practices, supporting new and existing public-private partnerships, and increasing awareness and action in support of development.

Mohamed El-Erian serves as Chair and James Manyika as Vice-Chair of the President’s Global Development Council, leading the Council in its role of informing and providing advice to the President and other senior U.S. officials on global development policies and practices.
