Rebecca Garcia is a Co-Founder of CoderDojo NYC, part of the global CoderDojo movement of free coding clubs for youth. She advocates for STEM education to bring about social and economic equality. Rebecca was born in New York to Hispanic and Asian immigrant parents who taught her the value of education and giving back. Previously she was a developer at Do Something and CTO of Greatist, where she learned to harness her web development skills for good and help other organizations such as Girls Who Code and Iridescent. Ms. Garcia joined the Hello World Foundation to scale CoderDojo, and further her love of connecting people through technology.
