Jennifer Lee
Jennifer Lee is Deputy General Counsel and Senior Policy Advisor for Oceans and the Environment for the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy. She provides legal counsel on stakeholder engagement, environmental law, constitutional law, legislative affairs, ethics, fiscal law, and information disclosure related to domestic and international science and technology policy. She serves as Co-chair of the National Science and Technology Council's Subcommittee on Ocean Science and Technology, which coordinates ocean science and technology research, policy, and priorities for the federal government. She provides legal and policy guidance to the National Ocean Council on interagency coordination, stakeholder engagement, and implementation of the National Ocean Policy. Ms. Lee also advises on intellectual property policy and is a registered patent attorney with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
Previously, Ms. Lee served as a policy advisor for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. She is admitted to the bar in California and Washington State and is a member of the U.S. Supreme Court Bar. She received her J.D. and Master of Public Policy from Georgetown University, where she focused on environmental and regulatory policy. She holds a B.S. in Neurobiology and a B.A. in International Studies from the University of Washington. Ms. Lee is the daughter of immigrants and a native of Seattle, Washington.
