Chanan Weissman is an Associate Director of Public Engagement and serves as the White House liaison to the American Jewish community.  He previously served as the spokesperson for the State Department's Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor, and in a number of other capacities at the State Department. Before entering government service as a Presidential Management Fellow, he worked at several communication consultancy firms. He earned his Master's degree from Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service and his Bachelor's degree in journalism and government & politics from the University of Maryland. He lives in Baltimore, Maryland with his wife and three daughters.
