Alefiyah Mesiwala
Alefiyah Mesiwala, MD, MPH, serves as a Senior Policy Advisor on the National Economic Council and jointly at the Office of Science and Technology Policy. In this capacity, she leads on the President's healthcare team, advising on delivery system reform, healthcare innovation, and the Affordable Care Act. Prior to joining the White House, Alefiyah was a medical officer at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (CMMI) at CMS and led the design and implementation of new payment reform models such as accountable care organizations and also advised on delivery system reform priorities. She is a primary care physician with clinical training in General Medicine and Preventive Medicine and a Master in Public Health from Johns Hopkins. She also received her undergraduate and medical degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
