Major trends are shaping the future of our transportation systems. Our population is growing and aging. Our legacy transit systems need more attention every day. Our roads and runways face increasing congestion.
America's way of life and continued economic growth depend on meeting these challenges, so this October, DOT and the White House Office of Public Engagement will host a Champions of Change event focused on “Beyond Traffic: Innovators in Transportation for the Future.”
I invite you to help us recognize the champions who are making it all possible.
Help us select the next Champions of Change by nominating innovators who have provided exemplary leadership in advancing change that will benefit our nation’s transportation system for decades to come at the local, regional, and/or national level. Nominees will be considered for their work in improving the mobility of people, the mobility of freight, overarching strategies for enhancing our transportation system for moving things better, and how we adapt to a changing environment.
If you know of someone making a difference in one or more of these ways, help us share their achievement by nominating them as a Transportation Champion of Change today!
We are looking for innovators who have developed and implemented strategies to strengthen connectivity, reduce congestion, and /or improve safety for Americans. We are also looking for innovators who are affecting how freight and cargo move across the county --including efforts to improve efficiencies and safety in our nation’s freight system. And we are looking for innovators who are driving technological advances that improve the way we deliver transportation benefits --including those who have been key in streamlining project delivery in the design and building of our nation’s transportation systems.
Nominations are due by midnight Thursday, August 1, 2015, and should be completed using this link:

Please let us hear from you. It's a great way to recognize someone making a difference in their community. And it's a great way of inspiring other problem-solvers and innovators to continue pursuing their work.
