As an adjunct instructor at a local community college, Maria V. from Fairfax, Virginia wasn't eligible for health coverage through her job -- only full-time faculty and staff could receive health insurance. Since July 2008, she'd been paying monthly premiums ranging from $316 to $549.
But after signing up for coverage through the Health Insurance Marketplace last year, her premiums went down to only $36 a month. And her coverage was, in her own words, "far better" than what she had before.
"Thank you from the bottom of my heart," Maria wrote the President. "You have made my life a little easier because you care and are a good man."
