Last week, Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius
announced the launch of the
Transparency Task Force at the Food and Drug Administration. As part of that effort, the FDA has now started the
FDA Transparency Blog to seek input from the public about issues related to transparency. Public comments via the blog will inform the recommendations the Task Force will provide to the Commissioner about ways the agency can become more transparent. Engaging via the blog will enable commenters to see and respond to one another’s comments and to engage with the agency in an active and collaborative dialogue. The agency will post a new question each week beginning with this week’s question: How can the agency better explain its operations, activities, processes and decision making?
