Two Full Years of Job Growth

Each job added in the last two years tells a story. Share yours.

The economy has added private sector jobs for two straight years - over 3.9 million jobs were added during that period. This chart demonstrates how our economy is recovering from the worst economic downturn since the Great Depression.  

Behind each of these numbers is the story of a business adding new members to its team or of an unemployed worker finding a new job to help support a family.  But it's clear we need to do more. Too many families are still struggling to make ends meet and too many Americans are still struggling to find a job. That’s why it’s so important that we continue the progress we’ve made over the last two years until every American who’s looking for a job can find one.

You can add to this narrative by sharing your story from the last two years.

If you’re a business owner who’s been able to hire new employees in the last two years, tell us when you started hiring and what allowed your business to grow.  If you’ve been hired in the past two years, tell us what your job means for you and your family.  And if you’re still looking for work, tell us why it’s so important to continue this progress. 

We’ll use these stories to help illustrate the progress we’ve made over the last two years and the importance of continuing to strengthen our economy and create jobs in the months and years ahead.
